Hashimoto’s Thyroiditis
No, it's not just some funny name...Hashimotos is a condition in which your immune system attacks your thyroid.
My goal is to share my journey of healing & living with this condition. I was diagnosed 11/24/2014 (yes, the day before Thanksgiving, my doctor told me Gluten is poison for my body).

  1. Hi! I happened upon your blog while googling how to heal hashimotos disease. My symtoms are incredibly similar to your's and blood work is almost exactly as yours was with the tsh, free t3, and free t4.... I wasn't able to get the antibodies tested yet. But I am almost positive that is my problem. My Doctor thought my thyroid didn't seem "too bad", but after months of continuing symptoms he finally said maybe it's not quite optimal. He put me on natural thyroid hormone, and I've been taking it for a week now. I originally was really against taking medication of any kind, but was willing to give this a shot if it would make me feel better! I already have been following a gluten free, mostly dairy free, and refined sugar free diet for about 9 months now. My question is, with Hashimoto's are you taking any thyroid medication? I feel so confused if I should take medication while I try to heal or just do it without any pharmaceutical "help"? I take all the recommended supplements, herbs, and have recently started the AIP diet. I try to exercise regularly, be positive, spend time outside, but nothing has helped. Any advice would be so appreciated!

    1. I struggled with that decision as well, but I trust my holistic doctor. Basically, he explained that taking the medication would alleviate some of the pressure and stress my body was under. By taking thyroid hormones, my body needed to produce LESS so it could focus it's energy on HEALING instead.
I would say it took weeks (even months) to feel better so stick with it along with eating healthy. I follow the Whole30 meal plan (meat, veggies, fruit, healthy fats) and that has helped TREMENDOUSLY!

  2. Hi Kati! I recently came back to your blog to read these posts as I suspect I have Hashimoto's (just got blood work done and seeing a naturopath next week). I noticed some of these links aren't working:
