100 Lifetime Goals

Sunday, June 21, 2015

One of the things I love most about Beachbody is they encourage you to be proactive about improving yourself- mind, body and soul.
I used to think of "Personal development" or "Self Help" as the section of the book store or library where you could spot losers. (How embarrassing! I cannot believe I was so critical and close minded!)  I apologize!

Thankfully, my views of the world have changed and I advocate Personal Development as much as possible! It's the PROACTIVE choice to become the best version of yourself. It's taking an honest look at yourself and identifying the areas where you could use a little guidance (whether it's leadership, time management, goal setting, listening, relationship building... it could be anything and everything).

One of the first books I read as a coach was: The Success Principles(TM) - 10th Anniversary Edition: How to Get from Where You Are to Where You Want to Be
Jack Canfield opened my eyes AND I love that he has so many different strategies for helping you set some goals... identify what you want in your life... and then actually put things in place to achieve it.
Admittedly, this book sat on my shelf for months. It's pretty large which can be intimidating... but hey- you don't have to read it all in one sitting.
I promise once you start, you will be a highlighting- circling- taking notes- inspired machine!

I created a GOAL BINDER. Basically, I clipped images from magazines and put them in those page protectors. I created a flip book for my DREAM life- everything from the type of house I wanted... the vacations I would take... the business goals I would achieve... financial goals... relationship goals... how I could impact my community...
Every night before bed, I would look through my DREAM binder before falling asleep and visualize my life as though I achieved it.
SADLY, during our cross-country move from Cali to Pittsburgh, the movers LOST it. Devastating and irreplaceable loss... but recently I came across some pictures I had of it...
And it's almost eerie... many of the things I wished and hoped for (in my wildest dreams) have become a reality!

If there is one thing I have learned about myself... it's that I can get a bit... lazy haha I need BIG, blood pumping, exciting goals to shoot for! I need to wake up with an intense passion and desire to take MAJOR action

Our brains are WIRED to be goal-seeking machines. When you give yourself a goal, your subconscious gets to work (day and night) on how to achieve it.

I want to share something with you in hopes that you will be inspired to create your own goal list...

Some goals can be achieved in a weekend (example: I want to go kayaking) while others may take years.  It's good to create a list of several goals that you are actively working toward so you don't get discouraged when one of your goals doesn't happen quickly.
PLUS as you achieve smaller goals/successes, you get excited! There is no greater joy than accomplishing a goal and checking it off your list- it inspires you to keep reaching and working!

Create a list of 100 Life Goals

I'm in the process of crafting my LIFE LIST. The 100 goals I want to achieve in my life- and the cool thing is.. I know this list will grow and evolve over time.
The key to making a good list is...

-- Be specific. Include as many details as possible (ex: when they will happen, where, you can include model #s, exact amounts of $$$, etc...)

-- Be REAL! Don't think about what you think you should want (I'm guilty of doing this). Take some time to sit down and think about what YOU actually want (not what others tell you to strive for). I recommend doing a brain dump. Get out some paper and just start writing. For the first 20 min, you're prob writing what you think you should want... but after awhile... your true self comes out!

-- Make it Visible You could create a dream board, put your goals on notecards, put together a dream binder, write a blog post! ... whatever you decide...make it something you can look at often to visualize your goals coming true. The goal is to keep them on your mind.

-- Celebrate Every Success  As your achieve goals (big or small), celebrate! Soak it in and really take a moment to enjoy every success!

-- Don't be afraid to dream BIG! Think little goals and expect little achievements. Think big goals and win big success. -David Joseph Schwartz

Jack Canfield says there are 7 areas you should set goals for:
  1. Financial & Wealth Goals
  2. Career Goals
  3. Health & Appearance Goals
  4. Relationship Goals
  5. Personal Development Goals
  6. Community & Charity Goals
  7. Free Time Goals

To give you some inspo, here are some of my goals!

Chalene Johnson: Smart Success Seminar

Monday, April 15, 2013

Just got home from Chalene Johnson's Smart Success Seminar and omgosh I have one work for it: AMAZING! or as my Bombshell friends would say...Mind= blown lol
Oh my gawddd it's CHALENE!!

The girls! my loves!
What is success?
Well I guess it depends on who you ask...according to Google, Success means "The accomplishment of an aim or purpose."

This might seem random, but hang in there I swear I have a point. Some mornings I wake up and think "how did I get this AMAZING beautiful life that is my reality?" I swear it feels like a DREAM sometimes. It's weird to backtrack and look at how far I've come.

College is supposed to be the time you figure out your calling in life and really move towards your goals. It's weird because I've always KNOWN I was going to do something amazing but I could never figure out what exactly...I fell into a job working retail and moved up to management and somewhere along the way...I lost the spark. Don't get me wrong...I worked HARD. And long long hours but the successes felt shallow. I used to think...if I can just survive 40-50 more years of this...I will be able to do what I want to do and not live pretty much paycheck to paycheck.
At one point, I remember feeling like I was drifting...with no set goals or big ambitions. I'm a girl who runs on BIG dreams and ambitions so I think it made me a little depressed.
It wasn't until I found Beachbody (more specifically...coaching) that I started to dream again and set some goals. When you know where you want to go, what you want to achieve and put your goals on paper...it feels SO satisfying when you ACHIEVE them!

My first goal as a coach...get my Shakeology paid for...I had to share Shakeology with my friends/family and get 3 of them to love it as much as I do.

My next goal was to get my car payment covered....from there it grew...get my mortgage covered...and then a BIG GOAL.....gulp....QUIT my "real job" and do beachbody FULL TIME.

Do you ever have a goal that you feel like it takes FOREVER/no time at all to achieve?! haha It's weird because I felt like I waited SO LONG to get there and yet it happened before I knew it.
TODAY is my ONE YEAR anniversary as a FULL TIME COACH. And in that time, I've been able to help and serve so many more people than I was when I had to juggle it all.
It's amazing to say that it's been ONE YEAR of owning my schedule, owning my life, owning my agenda and being the deciding factor in MY success! I decide how well I do, how many people I reach, how much time I dedicate to my passion.
And it feels good!

Chalene Johnson is all about goal setting and reverse engineering it to figure out exactly how to get there.
I wrote out MY definition of success and what I want out of life so I know how to craft my days to achieve it.
MY DEFINITION of SUCCESS:  I feel fulfillment everyday. I’m doing what I love. I’m challenging myself and learning new things all of the time. I work with the people I love and care about. I work according to my schedule and when I feel like it. I have total freedom over my schedule. I work from home in my beautiful office where I feel productive and creative. I have my own ‘studio” space and workout space. I date my husband (boyfriend for now hehe). I want a deep connection and support from him and for him. I have inner peace and clarity. I have the money to do the things I love with the people I care about. I have the financial freedom to provide a ridiculously amazing life for my family. Jay pursues his interests and follows his passions along side me. I mentor women and have created incredible leadership in my business so that my presence is not needed for the business to grow at an insane rate. My business thrives with my leaders and I have taught them how to create the same freedom in their lives, the freedom they crave. I wake up every morning with butterflies- excited to take on the day. I have the freedom to honor my priorities. I control my destiny, my schedule, my income and my happiness.

Now that I have a CLEAR vision for the future, I can continue creating it and making it better! I already am my own boss so while I DO control my schedule and the hours I work...my GOAL is to become better at managing my time so that I can help more people and work with the people I truly connect with. My passion is helping other women gain confidence and follow their passions. I love helping them build a successful Beachbody business (and look good doing it hehe)
My mentor from afar is Marie Forleo. She has no clue how much she inspires me! If you haven't checked her out you HAVE to go to http://www.marieforleo.com/ like right now!!
My mission is to create my website for mini Marie Forleo's like me who want to create a brand, a business and infuse their personality, their passions and a lot of love all rolled into one. "It doesn't take talent or luck to succeed, you just have to DECIDE"
It got me thinking about who I enjoy working with and who starts a business that THRIVES

"I fall in love with people’s passion. the way their eyes light up when they talk about the thing they love & the way they fill with light."

This is who I am looking for...this is the type of person I want on my team:
I know what it takes to succeed in this business and where I am going...I'm looking for the women who want to join me on this journey and achieve THEIR definition of success.
If you think this list describes you, I would love to hear from you =)

Busy Girl, Healthy Life

Tuesday, November 1, 2011

There are so many great websites out there that I absolutely ADORE but sometimes forget about! I just re-visitied one of my favorites- Busy Girl, Healthy Life!
Lori Harder is basically awesome and she has everything from workout videos to recipes on her site!

Her post today definitely put things into perspective for me...

Lately I have been wondering about the shift in thinking, in terms of people trying to lead a healthy life.  In the past people seemed to be looked at with concern if they were rapidly gaining weight or not taking care of themselves properly.  As of late, I’ve noticed a completely different trend.  It seems that you are the odd man out if you prioritize your health and go out of your way to make sure you are getting exercise and eating healthy food.  Now, I do understand that there are extreme measures that can be looked at as obsessive, but in my opinion we have veered so far away from healthy lifestyles that anything above bringing a lean pocket to work is considered abnormal.
Clearly with the state of our health in this country, and at the rate which obesity is increasing, something has drastically switched over the years.  Is it our thinking, our habits, our education about food, our accessibility to unhealthy food, our culture, our attitude, our impatience, our issues of entitlement, or all of the above?
I come from a family that has always struggled with weight.  For a long time I thought I was over weight because of my “bad genetics.”  After years of reading and educating myself I realized I was unable to lose the weight because of my “bad habits.”  This was hard for me to grasp since I knew letting go of those habits meant letting go of the few things in my life that I felt were giving me happiness.  My entire life revolved around food and truly felt I deserved to be able to eat what I want, when I want. To me food meant fun, bonding, love, happiness, gratitude, acceptance, rewards and above all comfort.  Little did I know that it was my love affair with food that was also giving me feelings of self loathing, weakness, embarrassment, lack of energy, sadness and loneliness.  I remember starting these thoughts at the tender age of eight.
Talking with my clients, and from my own experience I realized people are given a hard time whenever they try to make a healthier lifestyle change.  For many this is because people do not want to be reminded of what they should be doing or they don’t want to lose the reliable lunch, drinking, gossip, care taker or whatever buddy they have come to rely on.  If all is status quo, they never have to change or feel bad about the choices they make.  That is, until one day when someone breaks up the pack and decides to pursue health and tries to better themselves!  The person who has decided to set these goals has the best intentions in mind, but for some reason some people around them feel as though they are personally being threatened by having their environment CHANGED!  Questions pop in their head like, is he/she judging me on what I am eating? A: NO.  Is he/she thinking I am lazy? A: NO!  Is he/she thinking she is better then me now because he/she has will power?  HECK NO!  HE/SHE just wants to try to feel better and be happier!
If you have set healthy goals for yourself, AMEN!  It’s the only way to get what you want out of life!  You are one of the few who has found the missing link to being happy, content and healthy.  We are not born this way!  It is a lifelong endeavor and search to continue to better yourself and remain disciplined in order to continue to gets life’s rewards that are waiting for those who work hard.  The only answer to this huge problem is to start with yourself and your own family.  Stop all the blaming and justifying,  and learn about what you should be doing and eating and take action.  Be and set the example you want for others.
Leaders will always be criticized in the beginning and that is what makes them stronger.   If you are thinking this sounds too tough and unrealistic then you have already chosen your future.  It all starts with your thoughts and attitude.  A healthy life is right around the corner and the smallest of steps make a difference.  Don’t rely on others for happiness and remember, the road is long but in the end it is better than you can even imagine.  Do it for you and your loved ones and start living your best life possible!
Set your goals high, never apologize for them and don’t stop until you get what you want!
 ~Lori Harder

what's your 5 year plan? “The tragedy of life doesn’t lie in not reaching your goal. The tragedy lies in having no goals to reach.”

Thursday, August 11, 2011

Last night I met an old friend for dinner and she did what your friends should do for you....she pushed me, inspired me, reaffirmed my beliefs and made me accountable to my goals and dreams.  It was nice to talk to another person who has BIG dreams for herself and can think beyond her current situation....KNOWING that she is DESTINED for greatness.WE are destined for GREATNESS!
You don't just fall into success though- you have to work to achieve it.  You have to write down your goals, share them- then start taking the small steps everyday that will get you there.

I love this segment from Jack Canfield:

Be Willing to Dream BIG Dreams
"As soon as you commit to a big dream and really go after it, your subconscious creative mind will come up with big ideas to make it happen. You’ll start attracting the people, resources, and opportunities you need into your life to make your dream come true. Big dreams not only inspire you, they compel others to want to play big, too

Service to Others
Something else you’ll discover is that when your dreams include service to others — accomplishing something that contributes to others — it also accelerates the accomplishment of that goal. People want to be part of something that contributes and makes a difference.
Turn Your Dreams into Goals and Objectives
Once you are clear about what you want, you must turn each item into a measurable objective. By measurable, I mean measurable in space and time — how much and by when. For instance, if you were to tell me that you wanted more money, I might pull out a dollar and give it to you, but you would probably protest, saying “No, I meant a lot more money — like $20,000!” Well, how am I supposed to know unless you tell me? Similarly, your boss, your friends, your spouse, your brain — God, the Universe — can’t figure out what you want unless you tell them specifically what it is. What do you want — exactly — and when do you want it by?

Write Your Goals Down!!!
Write your goals down IN DETAIL! and read your list of goals every day. This will keep your subconscious mind focused on what you want.

For an even more powerful approach, close your eyes and focus on each goal and ask yourself, “What is one thing I could do today to move toward the achievement of this goal?” Write down your answers and take those actions.
I recommend writing down a minimum of 3 goals in each of the following 7 areas:
1. Financial Goals
2. Career/Business Goals
3. Free Time/Family Time
4. Health/Appearance Goals
5. Relationship Goals
6. Personal Growth
7. Making a Difference
To help your reticular activating system begin finding YOUR wants in unexpected places, take time now to decide what you want and start writing!
Remember, don’t hold back!"
Don’t wait until you are looking death in the face to realize that you are not just a by-stander but You must be a pro-active participant in life. Don't sell yourself short. You have a lot to offer. You have special gifts unique to you that you can offer to the world.

Think about those people in your life that just seem to have it so "easy"  They always seem carefree and vibrant- people always seem willing to help them and are happy to see them succeed. What makes this person different from you?
Attitude! And realizing what your dream in life is and going after it. Wouldn't you be MUCH happier if you spent your days working on your DREAMS and PASSION?

So why doesn't everyone go after their dreams or set goals for themselves? Fear of failure! We don’t want to fall short and we don’t want anyone to know we didn’t make it. We don’t want to FAIL.

But think about when you were learning how to walk early in life. You prob fell...A LOT. ALL of the time! But did that stop you? Did you say to yourself "well since I didn't master it on my first time...I'' just give up because I'll never get this!"  NO you kept at it!

So what changes? What happens in life that we think just because we making mistakes that we should give up?! A mistake is simply a learning process. Ok that didn't work...now I'll try this...

Even though you may not know how to achieve a lofty goal, set it anyway. You will be surprised at how inspired you’ll be and you’ll likely take action you wouldn’t normally have taken.

Use the power of your sub-conscience to unlock your inner genius/bombshell!
