Body Beast Results and review for Women

Body Beast Results and review for women (or woman hehe Just lil ole me!)
What's really interesting about this program is how much your body will change. I noticed little things like stronger, rounder shoulders, more defined arms, more defined abs.
My weight flucuated pretty dramatically (for my height. im only 5'3")
Day   1: 121 lbs
Day 30: 127 lbs (I was pretty much FREAKING the Eff out haha)
Day 60: 122 lbs
Day 90: 117 lbs.

My waist cinched in, I absolutely got stronger, my thighs actually stayed about the same measurements but I can feel more muscle/strength but I still feel girly, curvy and pretty hehe  Keep reading for more of my thoughts and "a-ha" moments.

If you have no idea what Body Beast is...you can watch this little video or check out my post about Body Beast.
Ok so here's the dealio...at first I was SUPER intimidated by the workout. Like kinda freaking out haha There is grunting and the packaging even looks a little intense. It was definitely created with a LOT of testosterone BUT once I got over the initial intimidation and into my groove...I've discovered that
#1 I really love it
#2 Sagi is hilarious (not sure if that's intentional which makes it even funnier)
#3 Sagi is so HANDSOME. he's 40 which is PROOF that muscle = fountain of youth
#4 He's surprisingly motivational. "Whatever it takes" He encourages you to continue with the reps even if you have to drop your weights
#5 I feel SO STRONG!!!! but I STILL have my FEMININE curves and girly body that I love. Let's face it Curves are SEXY! BUT I prefer that my curves didnt jiggle around lol
#6 I've learned to let go of the number on the scale. ok so I KNOW that muscle is denser than fat but...ever feel like it's easy to GIVE advice but then when it comes to YOU...you forget all common sense and science and you focus on how you "feel"  Yea, I need to knock that off! haha I'm learning...

I love this illustration. Obviously a pound is a pound no matter what its made of... however muscle takes up less space than fat, so if there are two people that weigh the same-one lean and one not so lean, the one with higher body fat % will appear bigger in size. Basically...replace fat with muscle and you'll come in a smaller, tighter and sexier package.
I'm not gonna lie...I had no idea what a super set, drop set, progressive set or any other "bodybuilder" term meant. Totally ignorant. But now..I feel like I've learned soo much just from doing this workout.
I'm pushing myself more and allowing myself to be successful. This might sound a little silly..but even when I did P90X I would stop myself from picking up a heavier weight or pushing myself harder because my brain was telling me I couldn't.
Your mind gives up before your body does!! After doing the Ultimate Reset and then transitioning into this...I feel like I'm more in tune with my body and actually listening to my body instead of what I THINK I can do.

Day 35 Body Beast Results
ladies seriously...don't be afraid of this workout. The best part- this is something you can do with your man (without worrying that YOU'll look like a man haha) and you're getting STRONGER FOR LIFE!
I can rearrange the living room by myself if I wanted! Move this couch? No problem!

Excuse the bathroom mess haha but I'm FINALLY getting those nice round shoulders I've always wanted and toned arms! No bingo arms for me!!!

I should add that this is the meal plan I've been following...although I've cheated A LOT!!! haha so my focus this month is to tighten the reins...log my food intake on Myfitnesspal.com (if you're on there, my name is katiheifner  add me!) but so far so good!
And yes I take all of the supplements they recommend. I love the Suma Root because I swear it improves my mood. (At least that's what my boyfriend tells me lol)
Although now that we've moved into the next phase Ive stopped taking Fuel shot because it's too many calories but yea....I take Suma Root, protein and creatine and I still drink my Shakeology and take the Beachbody Omegas

I get asked ALL OF THE TIME...should women do Body Beast.... If you like lifting...if you want to be stronger...if you think women should be curvy....if you like FUN workouts that make you laugh....YES YES YES do it!
I love answering questions about this workout so if you need help, email me at heifnerk@gmail.com

Best Tasting Shakeology Recipes

Tuesday, April 16, 2013

I've got to share some of the best tasting shakeology recipes!
Those of you who know me or follow me KNOW that I have a ridiculous sweet tooth. Seriously if I don't have my chocolate fix...HEADS are gonna roll!

I USED to actually eat a piece of chocolate everyday which is what led me to weight gain. Now I KNOW I wasn't "fat" but I def was chunky! haha I actually searched for some old pre-p90x pics and I found this one from Easter. I still have this jacket and ADORE IT (don't you love great buys like that?!)
Anywho...I was prob about 129-130lbs here and my FACE looks puffy!! It's hard to find pics of my body because I would always hide behind something (like my cute niece!)
Before Shakeology, P90X, and a healthy lifestyle
If you are like me and NEED a sweet and satisfying snack but you still want to be fit....I've got your back!! I've scoured the internet for amazing recipes and through my P90X journey...I found Shakeology. Now I am SO lazy that I usually mix it in a shaker cup with just water but every now and then Im willing to bust out the Ninja for one of these recipes!

Skinny fat to curvy fit baby! It's all about having fun with it, not taking your fitness too seriously but then also finding healthy alternatives to the things you LOVE.
If you want me to coach you through P90X and/or Shakeology, just make me your coach by going here and signing up and then shoot me an email!
After! Much happier with my bod!

ok so what is Shakeology?

Shakeology isn't just a meal replacement. It's my chocolate heaven. Basically it's a health shake jam packed with nutrients which fills any nutritional gaps in my diet.  It's not just a protein powder or your daily serving of fruits and veggies. Shakeology is all of that. Convenience baby.

Is Shakeology a Scam?

Every now and then a product pops up that claims to "revolutionize your life". It'll cure all your aches and pains, get you bigger and stronger or smaller and leaner. Many of you are probably wondering if Shakeology is just another scam.
I'm not going to lie, before I bought this I totally googled "shakeology scam" because let's be real...the internet is not the most trustworthy place. I wanted to know why I couldn't get it at GNC or the health store.
Shakeology is only available for purchase to those living in the United States and Canada and can only be purchased through the Team Beachbody network of coaches (which I am now one of hehe)
I questioned it's benefits, especially when it costs around $120 a bag every month. But after doing some math...a tub of protein powder (taken daily), combined with the cost of one meal out (which we did almost daily) added up to way more than a bag of Shakeology, and that didn't include any of the fruits or veggies. Plus...those meals out were making me chunky monkey.
For the first week, it took me some getting used to drinking a shake...and figuring out how I liked it...but at the end of the first month, I was hooked. The biggest surprise was the taste. It actually tastes amazing! My experience with protein shakes was to just down them immediately!
After drinking it daily, it took care of my chocolate addiction and I noticed an increase in my energy levels.
Having something so easy to grab allowed me to really focus on mydiet: whether trying to eat a low calorie diet to lose weight or an increased calorie diet to add bulk, I'm able to focus on just the food we needed, and not worry about missing out on any nutrients.

There was also another huge benefit: weight loss. I was doing P90X and after my first month in...I added Shakeology to my routine. you can see an INSANE difference in my day 30-60 pics!
Anyway, if you'd like to give it a whirl...I'd appreciate it if you ordered through my site and I'd love to help ya!  Shakeology

Chalene Johnson: Smart Success Seminar

Monday, April 15, 2013

Just got home from Chalene Johnson's Smart Success Seminar and omgosh I have one work for it: AMAZING! or as my Bombshell friends would say...Mind= blown lol
Oh my gawddd it's CHALENE!!

The girls! my loves!
What is success?
Well I guess it depends on who you ask...according to Google, Success means "The accomplishment of an aim or purpose."

This might seem random, but hang in there I swear I have a point. Some mornings I wake up and think "how did I get this AMAZING beautiful life that is my reality?" I swear it feels like a DREAM sometimes. It's weird to backtrack and look at how far I've come.

College is supposed to be the time you figure out your calling in life and really move towards your goals. It's weird because I've always KNOWN I was going to do something amazing but I could never figure out what exactly...I fell into a job working retail and moved up to management and somewhere along the way...I lost the spark. Don't get me wrong...I worked HARD. And long long hours but the successes felt shallow. I used to think...if I can just survive 40-50 more years of this...I will be able to do what I want to do and not live pretty much paycheck to paycheck.
At one point, I remember feeling like I was drifting...with no set goals or big ambitions. I'm a girl who runs on BIG dreams and ambitions so I think it made me a little depressed.
It wasn't until I found Beachbody (more specifically...coaching) that I started to dream again and set some goals. When you know where you want to go, what you want to achieve and put your goals on paper...it feels SO satisfying when you ACHIEVE them!

My first goal as a coach...get my Shakeology paid for...I had to share Shakeology with my friends/family and get 3 of them to love it as much as I do.

My next goal was to get my car payment covered....from there it grew...get my mortgage covered...and then a BIG GOAL.....gulp....QUIT my "real job" and do beachbody FULL TIME.

Do you ever have a goal that you feel like it takes FOREVER/no time at all to achieve?! haha It's weird because I felt like I waited SO LONG to get there and yet it happened before I knew it.
TODAY is my ONE YEAR anniversary as a FULL TIME COACH. And in that time, I've been able to help and serve so many more people than I was when I had to juggle it all.
It's amazing to say that it's been ONE YEAR of owning my schedule, owning my life, owning my agenda and being the deciding factor in MY success! I decide how well I do, how many people I reach, how much time I dedicate to my passion.
And it feels good!

Chalene Johnson is all about goal setting and reverse engineering it to figure out exactly how to get there.
I wrote out MY definition of success and what I want out of life so I know how to craft my days to achieve it.
MY DEFINITION of SUCCESS:  I feel fulfillment everyday. I’m doing what I love. I’m challenging myself and learning new things all of the time. I work with the people I love and care about. I work according to my schedule and when I feel like it. I have total freedom over my schedule. I work from home in my beautiful office where I feel productive and creative. I have my own ‘studio” space and workout space. I date my husband (boyfriend for now hehe). I want a deep connection and support from him and for him. I have inner peace and clarity. I have the money to do the things I love with the people I care about. I have the financial freedom to provide a ridiculously amazing life for my family. Jay pursues his interests and follows his passions along side me. I mentor women and have created incredible leadership in my business so that my presence is not needed for the business to grow at an insane rate. My business thrives with my leaders and I have taught them how to create the same freedom in their lives, the freedom they crave. I wake up every morning with butterflies- excited to take on the day. I have the freedom to honor my priorities. I control my destiny, my schedule, my income and my happiness.

Now that I have a CLEAR vision for the future, I can continue creating it and making it better! I already am my own boss so while I DO control my schedule and the hours I work...my GOAL is to become better at managing my time so that I can help more people and work with the people I truly connect with. My passion is helping other women gain confidence and follow their passions. I love helping them build a successful Beachbody business (and look good doing it hehe)
My mentor from afar is Marie Forleo. She has no clue how much she inspires me! If you haven't checked her out you HAVE to go to http://www.marieforleo.com/ like right now!!
My mission is to create my website for mini Marie Forleo's like me who want to create a brand, a business and infuse their personality, their passions and a lot of love all rolled into one. "It doesn't take talent or luck to succeed, you just have to DECIDE"
It got me thinking about who I enjoy working with and who starts a business that THRIVES

"I fall in love with people’s passion. the way their eyes light up when they talk about the thing they love & the way they fill with light."

This is who I am looking for...this is the type of person I want on my team:
I know what it takes to succeed in this business and where I am going...I'm looking for the women who want to join me on this journey and achieve THEIR definition of success.
If you think this list describes you, I would love to hear from you =)

Ultimate Reset Results: Is the Ultimate Reset Worth it?

Tuesday, March 26, 2013

Is the Ultimate Reset worth it? First..let's take a look at Rob's incredible journey. I've seen a complete and total change in him  His attitude and outlook did a 180! The weight loss results blow me away but makes me ever more proud...the changes that happened on the inside. The positivity, the confidence and the happiness he exudes are all truly remarkable. If you would have asked me 21 days ago how much of a change I thought was possible...I never would have dreamed that he could make such strides!
Rob... You ROCK!Thank you for being our Team inspiration!

PRE RESET
As you know, I am suppose to have knee surgery on the 27th. Is it still advisable to start the Reset a week before the surgery? How do I handle eating the day before and the day of surgery? I know I am not suppose to eat 12 hours before I have it and with me being drugged up afterwards not sure what my appetite will be like after the surgery. Any suggestion would be helpful.

  • Kati Heifner Hmm, I personally would wait until after your surgery. I think it would throw me off track too much and you don't know how you're going to feel. In the meantime, I would start practicing and preparing some of the meals, drinking only water- and increase your water intake, if you drink caffeine- start weaning yourself off now so you don't have headaches on the reset

Make sure you read the Reset guide thoroughly- it's a lot of info to take in!
  • Kati Heifner Oh make sure you join the Team Beachbody Ultimate Reset Group. If you do a search, it should come up. That gives you access to other people doing the reset and the creators of the program often go in there to answer questions
  • Rob Perry Jay has made me quite caffeine already. He is so mean to me!  LOL. I need to work on drinking my water. I struggle with that. He's also going to go over mean plan options with me to make things simpler and less costly. Thanks for the suggestions as well. I would like to start the reset as soon as possible but I do have to take having the surgery into consideration. I might start the reset the day after it though. I think Jay would like me to start sooner though.
Day 1
"Ok.. So here are the facts today Jay Jorgensen and Kati Heifner and the rest of the group . It's Day 1 of the Ultimate Reset for me and I'm not liking it. My body wants something else besides what I am putting into it. Plus since I am laid up at home I am extremely bored and that's not helping matters either.

I'm a bit ashamed and embarrassed that I am posting this pic and my weight, but it is what it is. I don't know why I am posting it, maybe I'm just asking for punishment. Also with this pictures comes a weight of 352.5 pounds.... Just unbelievable!!!

Well time for my afternoon snack then I think I'll take a nap.." -Rob Perry

Day 8
"Well everyone today starts Week 2 of the Ultimate Reset otherwise known as the “Detox” phase. I must admit week one was a success for me, with a weight loss of 13.2 pounds. Other than that I really don’t feel much different. My sleep is still messed up and I think that has to do with still dealing with the pain and discomfort from the knee surgery. Oh, I remember something else. :-) I don’t feel as hungry as I thought I would. I normally eat a lot more food than I am doing on the reset and thought by decreasing that amount I would be starving, but I’m not. I do look forward to week 2 mainly because of the added fruit for breakfast and for a different variety of food for lunch and dinner.
Thanks again everyone for your support and encouragement through my journey.
Here's my delicious breakfast...."

Day 15
"Today folks on this Happy St. Patrick’s Day I start Week 3 of the Ultimate reset and I thought I’d post an update of my result so far. Thankfully I only have 7 more days to go :-) . It’s been a tough yet manageable road these past 14 days, but well worth it. My sleeping is not the best and I attribute that to having so many things racing through my mind. My energy level has improved and I think I am seeing subtle changes in my body. After this is all done and my insurance allows me I’ll also be doing new blood panel tests so I can compare them to the before results.

All in all though I am feeling better about myself and I seem to have a more positive outlook on things now.

As far as weight loss goes here are the numbers. After 2 weeks of doing the Reset I have lost 19.5 pounds, with a total weight loss (over 4 months) of 58.5 pounds. Those are results I can live with. I am so close to finally being under 300 pounds.
I am so enthusiastic about what happens after the reset, since I’ll be starting a new meal plan and exercise routine. The exercise routine will be limited till I get the clearance from my doctor and my body.

Everything is falling into to place though….." -Rob Perry

FINAL ULTIMATE RESET RESULTS
Sorry if this is long...but I have I'm so overjoyed that I might ramble. This week has been mind blowing. My team is growing like crazy...we just got back from an extravagant trip paid for by Beachbody...but at the end of the day...when I look at what REALLY matters to me...it's stories like Rob's

He credits Jay and I for helping me...but at the end of the day...HE made a decision, put in the hardwork and now has LIFE CHANGING RESULTS. I almost cried when I read this:

"Well after some deep thought and talking with Jay and Kati I decided to post my before and after pics of my Progress as I completed the 21 day Ultimate Reset Program. I have to say that I am quite embarrassed and ashamed of these pics, but they are what they are. Personally even-though I know I lost 26.1 pounds as a result of doing this program and managed to lose 3 inches of my waist, 2 inches off my chest and 1.5 inches off my neck, I still am not able to see the physical change... and I honestly mean that. It's just an odd feeling.

I have to say that I do feel so much better though. I have more energy, I am able to tie my shoes while bending down ( I know longer rely on people having to tie them for me), I'm definitely more flexible, I'm happier and for once I have a more positive outlook and attitude. There was not a single negative aspect or outcome from doing this program. If you just stay focus, follow it like you are suppose to and stay committed, YOU will succeed.

Plus I am happy to also report that since I started this new journey in November of 2012 I am officially down 65.1 pounds. Yeah for me :-)" - Rob P.

IS THE ULTIMATE RESET WORTH IT?
Absolutely 100%  It WILL challenge you, it won't always be easy but you will change in ways you never imagined. That's what I love about being on a fitness group...originally I started P90X to lose weight...I lost way for than weight along the way..I lost emotional baggage, lack of self confidence, bad influences and I lost my bad attitude.
Cleanse your body, cleanse your soul =)
