Honest Ultimate Reset Review

Friday, March 8, 2013

Since I'm doing the Ultimate Reset again, I wanted to post a new review for you guys. The first time I did the Ultimate Reset was back in May of 2012.

MY FIRST ROUND:
It went well, I got results from it but mentally...I just wasn't a fan.  To be honest, I kind of felt like a little kid who didn't get their way.  It was forcing me to change my routine, my meal plan, my eating schedule and step outside of my comfort zone...which really p*ssed me off haha  I looked at the experience as taking away from me...instead of looking at what I could GAIN from it. We even went and pigged out on Cold Stone Creamery the night before (gotta have it size! eep!)

I was VERY tired the first few days, had muscle pains, stomach pains (which I learned was all because I wasn't drinking anywhere near enough water) and maybe because my body was super loaded with toxins? LOL

By the end I was happy for it to be over with, but I did pick up a few tips and things I loved along the way

  1. Himalayian Salt (o-m-gee delicious & nutritious hehe it adds natural minerals that your body needs)
  2. The Oatmeal breakfast with maple syrup- to dieee for
  3. Drinking a ton of water
  4. Consciously eating & chewing completely. You actually shouldn't drink water during your meal because it dilutes digestive juices & acids, slowing down digestion which can cause digestive problems. Who knew?
  5. Sleep! ah the sleep I got was AMAZING!
  6. My skin was super clear after the first week- what girl wouldn't love that?
  7. And this is really random...but I had one fingernail that always had bumps and ridges. I don't know what the technical term for that is...but strangely enough...after the reset..all of my nails were beautiful. I don't have the science to back it up, but it did something for my nails lol
Ok so maybe I was being a huge baby because as I think of all of the benefits, they definitely outweighed the discomfort.  It's just really funny to look back on some of the videos I made on Day 2

My Current Reset Experience:
It's so funny because I feel like I'm in a completely different mental space than I was last May. This time around is NOTHING like the first time.
I have had NONE of the fatigue or muscle pain I had the first time. My mood has been great the entire time and I'm actually ENJOYING the meal prep.

So what's different?  I've been really reflecting on that over the last few days and I think it's a combination of a few things
  1.  My reason for WANTING to do the Ultimate Reset this time is solid. The first time we did it, I really just wanted to see what it was all about and experience it for myself. I didn't do it for ME...I did it to be able to help my team and the people who I coach. I love my team dearly...but if you are going to stick to a workout...meal plan...or doing ANYTHING really...you have to do it for YOU. This time I really thought about why I wanted to do it...and how I want to feel by the end of it...that motivation is greater than anything.
  2. I know what to expect! I KNOW to drink my water! Constantly! I know that some of the meals I didn't care for so I can substitute something I like. I know that I can pick ONE thing for breakfast and have that all week so I'm not ripping my hair out.
  3. I'm focused on ENJOYING the journey instead of the pursuit of perfection. I read the guide cover to cover...took notes and insisted that we do everything 100% exactly how they laid it out. Honestly, it stressed me out hardcore. I couldn't focus on enjoying our journey of detoxing...I just keep spazzing about whether or not we were perfect.
  4. I have my support team. My boyfriend Jay and friend/success partner Abby are helping me stick with it by supporting me every step of the way.
As of day 12, I am down 3 lbs. Weight loss isn't necessarily my goal but it's neat to see the relationship between food and how you look/feel. I have amazing energy
FINAL RESULTS: Starting weight 122.9  Ending Weight 116.4

Honest Ultimate Reset Review

Wednesday, February 6, 2013

I recently asked my coach Sarah Krchnavy to write an HONEST and through review about The Ultimate Reset. She what she has to say:

I ran into the Co-Creator of the Ultimate Reset
at the Whole Foods in Santa Monica, CA!

Before the Reset, I had a lot of issues with cravings, wanting fast food, having trouble with motivating myself to work out after a gallbladder surgery in October 2012. My body was reacting to food in a whole different way, my workouts were exhausting. My fitness level was completely different after surgery.
In December 2012, after seeing other people complete the Reset and the results from it, I decided to get it a shot. Initially, I was extremely worried about how it would give me results as well my extremely picky eating habits. I like what I like; I don’t like to stray from that.

On January 2nd, I started. The first few days were AWFUL. I was foggy, weepy (crying at a drop of a dime), frustrated with everyone. I nowrealize it was my body adjusting to the new world on the Reset. My
body was reacting to a HEALTHIER lifestyle. By Day 4, I felt so different. Clear, light, well rested, energetic. I thought I washealthy before, this was a completely different feeling.

I did struggle with the food…but I gave them all a chance. I actually became ADDICTED To green beans, cauliflower, Miso soup and quinoa. I kept wondering who this person was eating three healthy meals every
single day. My body was reacting a whole different way to food – it was FUEL. My body felt tighter, stronger, and leaner. I felt a whole new appreciation for spending time and cooking my food. I knew EXACTLY what I was consuming. I knew how to prepare food.
By week three, my body felt so incredible

I was 10 lbs. down from January 2nd. A total of 19 inches from my body all over, and I went from an extremely tight size 4, to a size 2, which are lose on me!!!

I never thought in my WILDEST dreams I’d be this size. After the reset, I started into a hybrid program of Les Mills Body Pump and Body Combat. My workouts have been SO incredible after the reset. My muscles are more defined, my body is getting leaner, and those stubborn hips are finally going away.
If you have any doubts on doing this, don’t. It’s life changing. It makes you realize what you put in your body as fuel should be healthy, and organic. You only have one body. You only have the one chance to
get it right at the moment. The reset gives you the chance to restart.
There is nothing like feeling the way I feel now.

My FAVORITE Recipes from the Ultimate Reset

Friday, January 18, 2013

Everyone ALWAYS wants to know...what do you eat on the Ultimate Reset so here is one of my FAVORITE recipes!!

Ingredients:
1 sweet potato (aka yam)
1/4 red pepper
1 cup vegetable broth or water
1 tsp finely grated peeled ginger root
1 1/2 tsp extra virgin olive oil
2 tsp. miso paste, diluted in 1 tsp. hot water
Tamari or Bragg liquid Aminos, Himalayan salt and herbal seasoning to taste.

Peel and cube sweet potato.  Cook in boiling water until tender.  Drain and set aside.  Meanwhile, roast a whole red bell pepper on gas stove top or grills, turning frequently until evenly charred on the outside OR in your oven at 400 degrees for 15 to 20 minutes, turning every 10 minutes or until skin is charred.

Put pepper in bowl and cover with towel for 10 minutes to steam.  Clean off skin and seeds by running under cool water.  Remove seeds, cut into quarters, and chop one quarter into 1/2 inch cubes.

Place sweet potato, pepper, broth or water, ginger, oil, and miso in blender.  If you want chunky soup, set aside some chunks of pepper.  Blend thoroughly, adding more liquid to achieve desired soup consistency.  Transfer to pot and gently heat on low until hot.  Add tamari or aminos, salt, and seasoning if desired.

Ultimate Reset Day 8

Friday, May 18, 2012

Today was easily the hardest day for me as far as cravings go. My mood was awesome, energy was great, I FEEL fantastic but....I can't stop thinking about chocolate! And pizza!
Up until now, there has not even been a twinge of wanting to cheat but right now that idea seems pretty impossible.

It was the first day of the Release Phase, which focuses on cleaning the colon. With phase 1 you only take the following supplements: Alkalinize, Optimize,Oxygenize and Mineralize, but the 2nd phase has added the Detox supplement in addition to the previous four listed. The first 4 supplements aren't difficult to take, but the Detox supplement is NOT tasty! Bleh!

Detox helps remove toxins and waste in the colon.

Contrary to common belief, the colon does more than eliminate waste. Who knew? It influences your hydration, nutrient absorption and immune system function. Woah...that's a lot going on!
If your colon isn't processing and eliminating waste properly- your poor digestive system can back up. This can cause evil bloating and discomfort. We've ALL been there!
I have some good news for ya, this Detox formula is NOT a "run to the bathroom" cleanser! Thank goodness!
It gets the job done, cleansing, restoring and resetting your intestinal ecosystem- while not forcing your body to release...ahem...waste.
Breakfast:

 Welcome to Day 8, Kati
Welcome to Phase 2! Today you'll be adding Detox to your supplement regimen. While some don't notice its effects for a day or two, others react more quickly—though not suddenly (don't worry!). If you feel a bit more gas than usual, that's entirely normal. Have you noticed other more positive changes, like your clothes fitting differently?
